I attended a meeting in the Waterfall area a few days ago, and listened to a guest speaker from CCPO. I beleive that your PROACTIVE approach to dealing with crime is exactly what we in Hillcrest / Waterfall require! I take my hat off to the residents in your community for making a difference. Many Thanks for the input from CCPO.

On Friday 19 Oct. our maid was attacked tied up and gagged, and then our house in Gus Brown rd was ransacked. The criminals gained access through a now derelict piece of property at 23 Maude rd. I wish to warn all residents whose property boarders on this address to be exceptionally careful and vigilant as it is attracting undesirables. The owner has put the property up for sale so no development in the near future seems imminent. Please CCPO can we keep an eye on this property? To Les Spence and the CCPO your response to our call was eye opening to say the least. 2-minute response time and the organizing of all other emergency people, SAPS and paramedics was outstanding thank you. In a time when one is to shocked to think straight, it’s a godsend to have some one like the CCPO do every thing for you. To all you people/residents who have not signed up, shame on you, do you not grasp the scenario what compounding support can have on our community!! Well done CCPO

The sooner the cowboy and laager mentality disappears the sooner the better. If you think you are safe drinking your beers at your braai and laughing at those who have joined the CCPO think again. A change of attitude is needed and remember gates, security bars and locks does not stop those criminals with intent. Only pro active community work will !!! All the CCPO need is your contribution and patience. Stop being negative and take the plunge.

A very big thank you to the guys on their bicycles.

They have come down Shepstone Road during the day this past week and during the weekend. I am glad to see them in our street, even though there are only about three houses that have signed up. Come on everyone, imagine if everyone signs up, we will see more of their friendly faces and be more at ease! They are only trying to make our lives more relaxing and safe!!

Keep up the good work,

Jenny Dall

I have been meaning to send you a mail so here it goes, June this year I went over to Japan for 3 weeks got back on a Saturday afternoon. Not having a good quality burger I went down to Wimpy, I was shocked to see Toti CBD quiet, not seeing the usual group of people hanging around aimlessly.

Great job done. Just some history I live in a complex we have 2 guards patrolling our grounds so it is quite safe, so people in our complex ask why joint CCPO. My reply is once you leave your gate you want to drive on safe roads. So for all complex's join and make Toti a safer place.
