Newsletter 13 December 2007

Dear Members,

We shall be implementing a new system with our newsletters from next year which should eliminate the Telkomsa.net problems we were experiencing and those who wish to unsubscribe will be able to do so.. This will come through Google.

Any one who may have a lead or connection to any person or company who might be able to provide or sponsor a permanent vehicle to the CCPO please let us know, we are still without our own bakkie.

Please be on the lookout for a silver Jetta reg # ND 323174 which appears to be involved in a great deal of local crime. If you see the vehicle, contact the emergency number 083 393 5066 and report it.

As I mentioned before, Gauche Air donated an air conditioner to the CCPO office so I have been fortunate enough to enjoy my lovely air conditioned office over these hot days that we have been experiencing. Thank you once again Graham and team for installation.

In my last letter I said Thank you to sponsors, and here are a few others I should like to add:

  • Colliers International for sponsoring leaflets that were sent out with the Home Ad’s.
  • Seadoone Mall Management for allowing Yvonne to have a table in their mall.
  • Dimitri Mesaritis of Winkle Tops Spar for a donation of R5000.00

And to All our Drop off Points

  • Cathlones Bistro,
  • KFC Winkle & Toti,
  • King Pie,
  • Pam Golding,
  • Postnet,
  • Seabreeze Hardware,
  • Seadoone Mall,
  • Verimark Winkle,
  • As well as at all libraries

I think I had a first where a member by the name of Bruce has paid me arrears for 6 months, as well as a year upfront in advance. Very generous of you Bruce thank you.

There are still some members who have never collected their boards from the drop-off /collection points. Please take note of the list and fetch your board.

Some residents of Toti do not seem to realise that to make use of the CCPO you have to be a member. We did have a call out this week and the lady said she did not know you had to be a member to call us. We do not haggle over the phone, or ask on each and every call if one is a member; there is no time for that if we are to arrive at a crime scene within 10 to 12 minutes as we have been averaging. Please advise you friends and neighbours who are not members that they need to join. This is not a free service. The guards and supervisors as well as Les and Wayne need to be paid.

Yesterday the CCPO Committee and the support staff, went to lunch for our end of year celebration, at our first restaurant on board, Memories. We had a great time and were treated to starters on the house from Pam and Bronnie. Thank you for that. Although I insisted that the Committee deserved some form of thank you from the community, and lunch would have been fitting, they all insisted on paying their own way.

The Aliwal Coast Tourist Map is available on all the sponsor’s counters, it is a free publication to the tourist showing off all the amenities, restaurants etc of the Aliwal Coast. Well done to Jacques of Big Events for this publication it looks great and he is supporting both ACT (Aliwal Coast Tourism) as well as the CCPO.

Some one else behind the scenes whom you never hear of is Kay-Leigh from Secure Logic who keeps me up to date with all the OB reports in order for me to keep you the members advised on what is happening around us. So thank you Kay-Leigh, it is a big part of making this venture work.

NB:

From my Admin side of things there are some members whose payments do not go through which results in the payment being the equivalent to R/D on a cheque. When this happens, for whatever reason, then I need that member to pay this outstanding amount into our bank account. It is not a quick thing for me to just double up on the next month as it results in my having to make changes the following month again to return it to the original amount. So please if you know that you owe me fees please deposit them into our account with your name so that I can match it to my RD list. Many thanks.

BANKING DETAILS

  • CCPO
  • FNB Amanzimtoti
  • Branch Code 220127
  • Account No 62140129380

Our membership is growing; we are definitely going forward with this initiative. We stand at 1782 contracts. If all the Body Corporate can get back to me with the number of members in each of their buildings I can give you an exact amount of actual members. I estimate that we must have a good 500 in this group. Let’s see what they let us know.

Schools on board

  • Amanzimtoti High
  • Athlone Park Primary
  • Doonheights Primary
  • Tecoma Pre Primary
  • The Yellow Brick Road
  • Umdoni Pre Primary

Remember this office is closing next week Friday 21st and will only reopen on January 7th 2008. So if your friends need to sign up, I need this info early next week.

No Admin queries to the emergency number Please!

Until next week, stay safe.

Regards
Tracy

Newsletter 7 December 2007

Dear Everyone,

Only three weeks to go and the Christmas Weekend will be over. My how time flies! We have been operating officially since June, which makes us 6 months old, although the very first members signed up over the May month end.

Crime never goes away, it just moves from place to place so remember to be cautious and vigilant, over the ‘silly season’ as some like to call it.

I think it is time to give our Sponsors a little of the limelight again and to remind everyone of what they have done for their community.

Many Thanks go to:

  • Nissan who gave a year’s sponsor of a vehicle (unfortunately this ended early, from June until October (looking for a new sponsor)
  • Hyundai Amanzimtoti sponsored Yvonne’s little Hyundai Atos
  • Adept Business Systems created our CCPO office programme for us, and support
  • KFC gave a generous donation of R10 000.00
  • Lords and Legends /Crossbar gave us a donation of R10 000.00
  • M-Projects donation of R10 000.00
  • Skytec Wireless supplied us with free internet
  • Robert Fowlds donation of R5000.00
  • Dingleys gave us discount prices on our start up printing.
  • Nashua gave us the use of a printer copier
  • Home Ads covered the cost of the first knock and drop of our leaflets
  • Cyber Crew IT Solutions donated a computer and IT support
  • BK Computers donated a computer
  • Performance PC gave us cables for our computers.
  • Stevens Stationers gave us stationery
  • The Printhouse and Stationers supplied our CCPO Banners
  • Trade Centre Supplied us with Office furniture
  • Dr Andrew Jones medical attention for Les at no charge
  • Gauche Air donated and has installed an air conditioner
  • Amazing Glaze gave free Smash and Grab glazing to our vehicles
  • Huntsman Tioxide have given us a donation of R5000.00 per month for a year.
  • Heartland Leasing Umbogintwini donated R6000.00
  • The South Coast Sun donated R4800.00
  • Bruce Lithgow- has lent us his vehicle whilst we try and replace the Nissan.
  • Rutherford Plumbing gave us a site to work from, tea and coffee from the start and now an office.

As you, the community, can see we do have some generous people in and around our community.

To all of you who have given us donations and pay more then the requested amount, there are a few of you, Thank you.

I was looking at the map today and thought how great it would be if we could get enough funds to have about 36 guards on one shift. That would be about one guard to a map grid. Not impossible if ALL of Toti joined up.

Please take a look at the Website www.ccpo.co.za, especially the page ‘go on tell us about it’. Thank you to those who have taken the time to comment on the CCPO experiences. Well done Les and your Secure Logic team, you have a very hard job to do. We all really appreciate all you do for us.

Anyone receiving the e mail about Miranda Reyneke who was missing please know that she is safely at home once again.

Until next time.

Stay safe.

Tracy Campbell

P.S. A lady looking for a home for two Labradors good with kids. If you can help phone 0725630404 before the weekend.
