CCPO CAR FUND

The CCPO is in desparate need of a vehicle for our Supervisors. Since the Nissan was recalled in October, Less Spence has had the use of the Corsa bakkie kindly loaned to us by Bruce Lithgow of Lords & Lengends, and Wayne Strickland has been using his own vehicle. Unfortunately, we are needing to return the Corsa to Bruce, and despite approaching various car dealerships in our area for the loan of a vehicle, we have come up empty handed.

We have therefore been forced to turn to our community for help once again. With a kick-start, of an amount of R 24 225.00, which was donated to the CCPO by Big Events owner, Jacques van Schalkwyk, we have opened a "CCPO Vehicle Fund" account. If, each one of our 2 700 members which includes each and every person in buildings, whose contributions, are paid by the Body Corporate, would contributed R50 toward the fund, we would raise a total of R160 000 including our Big Events donation. We are in the process of trying to organise a holiday as a prize where all members depositing into our "CCPO Vehicle Fund" account will be included in a draw, to win this prize!

Anyone wishing to help, our Special Savings Fund banking details are ....:

Acc Name: CCPO Vehicle Fund
Bank : ABSA
Branch : Amanzimtoti - 632005
Acc Num: 9197419464

Please include your name and address as the reference so that you can be entered into the draw. All deposits of R50 or more qualify to be entered into the draw, although any donation towards this fund will be gratefully appreciated. WE ARE HELPING OURSELVES IN Creating a safer place to live...together!

The draw will take place on Monday 31st March 2008.

Newsletter 18th February 2008

Dear Members,

I am sorry for the long silence. I am very busy in the office.

As a great many of you are aware Athlone Park is a very hot area at the moment, it appears to be under attack. Everyone in the Security business is concentrating their efforts there and I believe a meeting is to be held in Athlone at 42 Illanda Rd on Wednesday 20th Feb at 5.30 all interested parties to please attend.

I am sending out this short letter to let you be aware of what is happening in the next two days and I should have an update of crime in the area by Wednesday.

So until then when I have all the info.

Be on your guard and take care

Morne Swanepoel has asked us to advise of the course he is holding tomorrow, see details below.

PREPARE YOURSELF TO SURVIVE THE STREETS OF TODAY

CombatCoaching.com will be offering a free Self Defense class for Toti and bordering area residents on Tuesday evening 19th February 2008 from 7-8pm.

The session will cover tactical firearm training for self defense purposes. In this session you will be exposed to various tactics, training methods and techniques to give you a better chance to first of all survive a violent crime when the attacker has a firearm and second of all teach you the correct tactics on how to use your firearm for home security and on the streets of today.

There are allot of people out there who own firearms that do not practice correctly to stand a better chance surviving the streets of today. Many shooting schools focus on sport, competition or competency kind of shooting. Unfortunately, such training falls far short of the mark when it comes down to in your face, arms length combat against a live human being hell-bent on your destruction. That's where CombatCoaching.com Force-on-force training comes in.

In Force-on-force training you move beyond the static square range and into the world of intense interactive training with replica firearms against live human adversaries under real world conditions.

What do i need for this session?
You need an airsoft gum which is available at fleamarkets or Toy Shops. There is a Chinese shop opposite the KFC/Wimpy in Toti CBD that sells them. They shoot those little yellow/orange balls. They cost in the region of R 50 -R 100. You also need eye protection/goggles/glasses which you can get from your local Hardware Midas/Micah. They cost in the region of R10

DO i need any previous experience?
This training is performance orientate and is designed for total beginners to the most advanced. If you are serious about Self Defense and about learning some useful information which will save your ass in the streets or inside the privacy of your home, then this will be for you.

Where is it?
In the NG Church Hall, Opposite Toti primary in Frost Str.

DO i need to pay or book?
This session is FREE OF CHARGE, with no string attached. You do however need to book by contacting Aileen on:

URGENT WARNING

DON'T FLASH HEADLIGHTS AT ANY CAR WITH NO LIGHTS ON!!

Police officers working with the DARE program have issued this Warning:

If you are driving after dark and see an on-coming car with no headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM!

This is a common Bloods member "initiation game" that goes like this:

The new gang member under initiation drives along with no headlights, and the first car to flash their headlights at him is now his "target.". He is now required to turn around and chase that car, then shoot and kill every individual in the vehicle in order to complete his initiation requirements. Police Depts across the nation are being warned. Their intent is to have all the “new bloods nationwide drive around on Friday and Saturday nights with their headlights off.

In order to be accepted into the gang, they have to shoot and kill all individuals in the first auto that does a courtesy flash to warn them that their lights are off. Make sure you share this information with all the drivers in your family!

Please forward this message to all your friends and family members to inform them about this initiation ritual.
