Chat with the CCPO - 26/05/08 re GOLF DAY

Still unsure how many of you are not receiving my mail via Google. The last one went out on May 13th about Crime. Let me know if you are still not receiving via the Google link.

Further donations to the Vehicle fund came from:

Philip Roux a fantastic R3000.00. He had the choice to either go out and celebrate with colleagues or donate the money to a worthy cause, and  decided that the CCPO needed the money more. Thank you, thank you!

Our drive to raise more funds for another vehicle continues and we are having a big day on Friday 30th at the Amanzimtoti Golf Course. Remember the aim is to raise funds for another vehicle that we desperately need. Crime never goes away it just moves around. In order for us to be the best we can we need reliable FAST transport. This is our aim. We have had some fantastic support from those in and around Toti, Particularly the businesses.

The Stunning Michelle of Corporate Concepts has been slaving away rounding up players as well as sponsors.

She advises that the  " CCPO Golf day is now in full swing. We have a full field with only 3x4 Balls remaining so if you have not yet confirmed   please do so urgently"... Don't lose out as it is going to be a great day."

If you booked, Have you paid?

"We have been fortunate to have the following companies' sponsor holes on the day - There are some holes still available. R400 for entire hole which will allow you to put up banners and any marketing material as well as raise funds for CCPO or a game on this hole for the golfers or you can sponsor a Tee/ Green @ R250.

Crime with the CCPO 13th May 08

Hello Members,

Sometimes our members are not sure if they should phone us as it is an odd hour usually somewhere after 2am. But we are on call 24 hours a day, and criminals are waiting for those odd times to get away with their loot. So go ahead and make the call. Emergency 083 393 5066  24 hours a day.

Info from our members reveals that:

On Monday evening 12th May after briefing guards and setting up positions in identified Hot Spots CCPO's Wayne Strickland received information of an attempted car theft in Beach Road. The Description of the vehicle was circulated to the network of guards and all mobile security vehicles moved to lookout points on the main access roads. The vehicle was spotted by Les Spence in Warner Beach, where he put out an alert to all members and proceeded to set a trap for the suspects. At the Winkelspruit intersection using one of the armed guards for backup, they blocked the suspect's vehicle and arrested the three suspects. The suspects were handed over to SAPS vehicle theft unit where it was established that they had been involved in many car thefts in the Toti area. It was also established that one of the suspects was out on bail and supposedly under house arrest for other car theft cases. (Well done CCPO team.)

Hijackers are now tying your electronic gate closed with cable ties.
When you arrive at your gate, it will not open. You then get out of the car to inspect the gate and that's when they strike. If your gate does not open, drive away and phone your security company or get help.
From Blue Alert -Blue Security

Criminals are marking premises again. However there is a new method, they are using different coloured crayons. They are marking mainly intercoms, however if your premises do not have an intercom, they are also marking gates and walls.

They are using the following colours:

Green - this is for Housebreaking
Red - for Hijacking and theft of motor vehicle
Blue - Theft out of motor vehicle.

The colour of the marking would indicate which crime they are planning at your premises. Please inspect the outside of your premises for any such signs and rather remove the markings. There has been a red BMW involved in these markings.

Warning to people banking money:

Please be aware that there is a White Ford Bantam involved in following people who are banking large sums of money. These criminals plan there attacks very carefully, normally they will hold observation on a company for a few weeks, even months. They monitor the companies banking activities. Once the person doing the banking leaves the company, on route to the bank they are robbed of all the takings. This happened specifically in the Musgrave Area but they have been known to operate in all areas.

7th April

On Sunday morning 7th April ,at about 4.00a.m. our dogs were going ballistic. I peeped out of my curtains but was not able to see anything as we have a huge tree overhanging onto Mtomba Crescent. Later in the  afternoon, a pair of brown shoes was found lying amongst the ground cover and an angle grinder had been stolen.

19th April 08 from Mark

Don't  be caught like I was on Saturday. A Black man came to my gate in Kershaw Ave Doonside and told me that my garden worker JOSEPH who had worked for me for the last 20 yrs had been stabbed and killed. He claimed to be the brother in law of JOSEPH and was crying and seemed to be very very upset. He told me that his boss up the road had given him R500 and asked me to also give him R150 for the funeral. He was so convincing I gave him R100 and off he went ,I did however feel a little bit doubtful and took a photo of him. I got the shock of my life this morning when I came across JOSEPH  working up the road ALIVE AND WELL he knows nothing about it. A lesson learnt don't trust any stranger.

Warning

Always check ID of someone at your gate. Be warned about a group claiming to be from the electricity department. Appear to be targeting all areas.

Until next time,
Stay alert and report happenings in your area. We can not respond if we are not informed.
Bye for now

Tracy Campbell

Golf Update Funds for the Vehicle

Hi Members,

Remember the following is in aid of Funds towards our next vehicle. Pat Smycox is our MC for the day, thank you Pat and to Bond Choice who have arranged this, celebrity for us. We are doing well with bookings about a third left to go. So hurry up and book.

This however is really a message for all of our members to help us collect prizes and sponsors. If you know of anyone or company who might like to sponsor items, such as printing on t shirts, pens, anything that is usually done and maybe you have a totally new concept, in the business world to promote businesses, then please put them on to us. All sponsors are invited to put up their advertising we shall just have to liaise with Michelle as to where etc.

Our Website Designers, The Designer Boys, have offered a website as a prize; we have some weekend stays at local Bed and Breakfast venues. I shall put out a list of all the sponsors as soon as I have one, the sky is the limit, think big.

Sweets, drinks anything that we can give to the children. Think of it as a carnival. Perhaps there is something we could do together that will benefit us both. We need prizes, remember there are 130 teams many will bring their families and we need prizes for 4x quantity of teams, as well as prizes for the family stalls and entertainment.

Any members of the public who want to just give money towards buying prizes, please just deposit the money into the Absa bank account. Ref prize money.

Chat Time with the CCPO 7th May 08

Hello Again Members,

These weeks just seem to fly by and with all these holidays upon us, it has hampered my efforts to correspond with you.

This is the last time I shall be sending to all of you from my computer, in the future all the correspondence will come through the Google Groups e mail. What this means is that I send one letter to the Google groups and they distribute to all those whom we have loaded as members. You do not have to go onto the internet, to receive these they  will arrive just like, all your other e mail. If you find that you are not receiving any mail let me know and I shall investigate further.

Thanks continue to go out to members for contributions to the vehicle fund.

This week's thanks are directed to:

Inside Out Interiors  for their donation of R500.00
JM Babska :-  R200.00
Iain Pike for his :- R1000.00
Ron Waldburger :- R300.00

Thank you, everyone for your contributions. I know that times are really hard and although I have not mentioned to those of you who donated amounts under R200.00 we are still very grateful. Without those we would never have got there.  For those who still intended to donate, please continue to send through your contributions. Anything and everything helps towards the vehicle. We have purchased our first vehicle. A White Corsa 1400 Bakkie, logo's will be on it shortly. Do you know what an achievement that is? And YOU helped to get us there! Congratulations. We have taken some of our working funds to cover the shortage. So please don't stop those who still wish to contribute. We require a second vehicle for Les and our intentions are to employ another operations superintendent in order to give Les and Wayne some time off.

Thanks to them we have someone available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thank you Les and Wayne, we really appreciate what you do for this community.

Please, contact us if you have anything you can assist us with. Once we have all the details of the sponsors and what has been donated I shall advise the entire community of your generosity.

Michelle of Corporate Concepts says to hurry up and book if you want a 4 ball as they are going fast and we wouldn't like you to miss out on what promises to be a GREAT day.

And if any of the businesses on board would like to get involved then please call her on the above numbers.
