Attempted Hijacking - Westville N3 / Pavillion turnoff

We do not send these out to create panic but to create awareness. We need to be vigilant particularly when stopping at traffic lights or stop signs or even slowing down in traffic for that matter. I attended an anti-hijacking course years ago and remember one of the things stressed was to always leave an escape route when stopping. ENOUGH SPACE TO GET AWAY

PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON NEAR THE PAVILLION!!!

A woman was returning home from the airport and took the N3 Westville turnoff near the Pavillion at 20:30 the other evening. Six males approached the vehicle at the traffic lights with two throwing a rock and brick simultaneously and the other four going for the back doors. Fortunately she had the presence of mind to accelerate through the red robot with the rock hitting the doorframe and the brick smashing the window and hitting her in the face.

She managed to get away from the scene and was then assisted home by a family. When she was taken to Westville hospital she heard of a similar incident that had taken place shortly before hers near the entrance to the hospital in Spine road.

When returning home later it was noticed that the street lights at that specific set of traffic lights only, off the N3, were all out.

Thanks

We would like to thank Rob Wylie Trading for sponsoring the car watch bibs; this is really appreciated.

Thanks to Rosemarie Hutchings for the BP Vest and cuffs which she gave us. We were actually short of a vest and were wondering how we were going to buy another.

Thanks KwaZulu Awnings for donating the wonderful awning that is going to keep us nice and cool through the hot summer days ahead. It has made a great difference to working in a caravan.

The bicycle tucked away in the bushes in the garden in St Winifreds has been returned to the rightful owner. Grateful thanks.
